Leonard L. (L.L.) Braddock, Jr., 79, a lifelong resident of Callahan, FL, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2021, under the care of Community Hospice Jane and Bill Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach, FL. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, on May 1, 1942, son of the late Leonard L. Braddock, Sr., and Rubye Pilkinton Braddock. L.L. graduated from Callahan High School in 1961 and joined the U.S. Navy, where he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked many years as a Ford Truck Salesman and a car-carrier truck driver; but found enjoyment with his own landscaping business, Leonard’s Tractor Service. He was passionate about the children of Callahan, serving as past President of Callahan Little League and was instrumental in developing the Kirsten Higginbotham Sports Complex. He was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a dedicated member of the Disaster Relief Team. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elsie Nelson Braddock, and his children, Sharon (Ronnie) Maloy and Roger (Robin) Braddock; his sister, Marolyn (Ron) Boswell, and brother, Hugh (Kay) Braddock; his grandchildren Christie (Corey) Page, Kasey (Tyler) Braddock, Morgan and Logan Braddock, Mark McAninch, Jr., Kaitlyn (Nathan) Henderson, Kyle (Taylor) Christmas and Steven Sechler; and his great grandchildren, Caden, Camdyn, and Ellie Page, Brantlee Dukes, Taylie McAninch, Elsie and Riley Henderson. Visitation will be held Monday, October 4th, from 6:00 – 8:00pm, at Live Oak Baptist Church, 36178 Congregation Lane, Callahan, FL. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 5th, at 11:00am, at Live Oak Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church’s cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of L.L. Braddock, Jr., to Live Oak Baptist Church, Disaster Relief Fund, 36178 Congregation Lane, Callahan, FL 32011.
