LEON D. ROCHAY age 77 passed quietly Thursday March 14, 2019, with his daughter, daughter in law, sister, and nephew by his side at St. Vincent Community Hospice in Jacksonville, FL. Leon, always known as Bud was born to Daniel and Pearl (Varner) Rochay on January 4, 1942 in Summerville, SC. He was a tree surgeon in Homosassa, FL . He moved to Callahan, FL where he proceeded his trade to carpentry. Then changed his career to welder for Florida Steel. And retired as a master timber harvester. Leon was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Pearl (Varner) Rochay, his sisters Jeanette Delacruz, Iona Elliot, and Margie Esquerra. Survived by daughter Teresa L. (Ron) Radziercz, son Andra (Angela) Rochay, stepdaughters Kimberly (Joe) Slater, and Sarah (Steve) Irizarry, 10 grand children, 18 great- grand children, sisters Anna (Brian) Allessandro, Marilyn (Robert) Decker, Grace Scampini, Mary McKnight, Tammy (Doug) Backous, and Diane (Calvin) Wilson, brothers Hazel (Rhonda) Rochay, Howard (Kathy) Rochay, O'Neal (Darlene) Rochay, and Michael Rochay. A Memorial will be held at the Callahan Funeral Home, 617365 Brandies Ave in Callahan on Monday March 18, 2019 at 5.00p.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Callahan.
